Why do I experience lower back pain? Causes of lower back pain
Prolonged sitting in the office, facing a computer, leaning forward, or frequently crossing one's legs creates poor posture, leading to muscle imbalances and weakness in the lower back, gradually causing spinal misalignment. If not detected and corrected early, this can result in joint degeneration, dislocation of soft tissue between bones, increased risk of bone spurs, and in severe cases, herniated discs. Furthermore, poor posture easily causes hunchback, leading to chronic headaches, neck pain, and shoulder and neck pain.
If you frequently lift heavy objects at work, putting extra pressure on your lower back, coupled with incorrect posture, it can easily lead to sudden lower back injuries.
Does a waist belt help?
A lumbar support belt serves to support the lower back and abdomen, reducing stress on the surrounding muscles. It also reduces the range of motion of the lumbar spine, aiming to stabilize the spine, improve posture, and reduce joint pressure. Wearing a lumbar support belt can help with some high-stress movements, such as sitting or standing up. Additionally, the lumbar joints and muscles are given a chance to rest and recover due to the support. Lumbar support belts are often recommended for post-operative care, severe pain, or to prevent further injury. Wearing a lumbar support belt while working can accelerate recovery.
Is it suitable for everyone?
The muscles in the human abdomen are a "natural waist belt". As long as this "natural waist belt" is strengthened correctly, it can help treat back problems. Misusing the waist belt will make the muscles around the lumbar spine "lazy" and lose their function as a "natural waist belt" to stabilize the lumbar spine, so that you may sprain your waist even when you do some small movements.
Waist belt selection
There are different types of waist braces on the market, so how should I choose? First of all, different waist braces will differ in height, material hardness, and support strength. Also, some people are afraid of feeling stuffy and will consider the breathability of the material.
First, if the lower back pain is mild and the focus is on prevention and maintenance, we would recommend a lightweight lumbar support belt:

This product features a lightweight design that allows it to be worn under clothing unnoticeably. The metal support strips are flexible, and the breathable material provides ample support without restricting movement.
Another option is recommended for use when lifting heavy objects at work. Its design is breathable and close-fitting, with a cross-shaped elastic bandage on the back that pulls the metal strip against the back for enhanced support and protection. The lumbar support is also 9 inches high, providing a wide support area. The elastic metal strip provides sufficient support without restricting movement when bending over, sitting, or standing up.
Both the elastic lumbar support and the dual-adjustable aluminum strip lumbar support are equipped with a rigid aluminum strip, making them suitable for people recovering from injury or surgery. The rigid aluminum strip provides protection and support for the lower back, allowing it to rest and recover while preventing further injury. The elastic lumbar support is approximately 8 inches high and features a handle for easy operation; the material is breathable.
The double-adjustable aluminum strip waistband is 9 inches high and features a double-adjustment function (first attach the Velcro to the abdomen, then pull the side bandages to tighten the waistband), providing stronger support and making it easier to use.
